A Remarkable Tasting in Kansas City!

This year, many fine wineries are taking their craft on the road.  Recently, we had the distinct pleasure of sipping our way through wines made by some wonderful wineries from Napa who were sharing their wines in Kansas City.  It was awesome to step into the traveling tasting rooms of many well-crafted wines.

This event was attended by eight wineries from Napa that use the off-season to travel to big cities to let their wines tell the story.  We were offered over 20 different wines to taste and enjoy.  The wineries attending were ADAMVS, Covert Estate, Kelly Fleming, Memento Mori, REWA, Seven Apart, Simon Family Estate, and Vineyard 7 & 8.  These are all top flight wineries with well-honed winemakers crafting their wine from excellent grapes.  It was a real delight to stroll through and taste luxury wines in downtown Kansas City. 

These type of events are not always advertised.  They are routinely by invitation only.  Having a purchase history with the wineries themselves opens the door for the invite.  It was a very pleasant experience to take our time and visit each of the tables, gaining information from their hospitality person.  Know that you only need to have a friend who gets the invitation to the tasting.  They can easily purchase a ticket for you to participate.

The event was a big attraction in the “heartland.”  Similar events happen in large cities like the wonderful city of Chicago and often in the great states of Texas and Florida. Be on the lookout for events taking place near you.
